STANDARD SEPTIC SYSTEMS - contain sewage and wastewater carry lines from dwellings to septic tanks. Never use bleach, drain cleaner, or harsh soaps with a septic system. Bleach and detergents eliminate the helpful bacteria that thrives in a healthy septic container to optimally process toilet waste products. Lack of proper septic container bacteria will cause your leach field to fail from extreme bio-mat accumulation. Avoid commercial septic tank additives. These products will not help plus some may hurt one's body in the long run.
Norwesco septic tanks come equipped with a domed lid. This improved upon design is significantly better than other lid designs. When departing our factory the lid is attached to the container with four stainless screws and comes standard with a foamed, polyethylene gasket between your lid and the fish tank. The gasket offers a watertight seal at the lid area.
Treatment should be taken to ensure that problems won't occur because of the tank rising from the ground, when it is emptied in high water stand sites. Also. if you simply surround it with gravel, then normal water will see its easiest path to soak away during heavy rainfall and the gravel will become a french drain, flooding the area next to the tank and causing the same type of problem. It is always advisable to install the reservoir with a concrete surround, unless it is a Crystal which is so strong that it could be installed strapped down to a concrete bottom part for ballast and backfilled with gravel.
For non-domestic sewage effluent, human population equivalent is computed by multiplying the quantity of people using the machine by the BOD weight (g per person per day) for the relevant release type and dividing by 60 (60 g is the average BOD load for one person in a single day).
